A troubling new case of forced conversion in Pakistan has
raised serious concern among Christian communities and human rights advocates.
According to reports, Christian girl Sehar Bibi was allegedly abducted in
Sadiqabad and later subjected to forced religious conversion and marriage.
Cases involving underage girls from minority communities
continue to draw attention in Pakistan, especially when families claim their
daughters were taken against their will. In many incidents, parents also report
difficulties in receiving timely legal protection or police support.
Key concerns in this case include:
- Alleged
abduction of a Christian minor
- Claims
of forced conversion and marriage
- Concerns
about legal protection for minority girls
- Calls
for a fair investigation and justice
The Emergency Committee to Save the Persecuted and Enslaved
(ECSPE) highlighted the case to raise awareness about the ongoing issue of
forced conversion in Pakistan and the challenges faced by vulnerable minority
families.
